New York’s High Line Park | Inhabitat

NYC Skyline Park

The City of New York was originally planning to tear down the High Line, but a group formed, called ‘Friends of the High Line’, to protect, preserve, and renovate the High Line. This eventually lead to a design competition, and the commissioning of landscape architects James Corner Field Operations and architects Diller Scodifio + Renfro to rehabilitate this abandoned space into a lush, green, elevated paradise for Manhattanites.

Dollar Lake Fire, Mt. Hood Oregon | Blaine Franger

Dollar Lake Fire, Mt. Hood Oregon | Beautiful Hood River | Blaine Franger.

A photo taken yesterday around midnight of the the “Dollar Lake Fire” which is burning on the North side of Mt Hood in Parkdale, Oregon. The fire was set off by a lightning storm a few days ago. A 3 minute exposure in this shot really blurs the fast moving smoke, and the stars in the sky as well. Taken from Binns Hill Road on the westside of Hood River. – Blaine Franger, photographer
